Crystal Good, Director of Brand ExperienceCrystal Good serves as the Director of Brand Experience and “Chief Mythologist” for our clients. Crystal’s creative visions help bring fundamental value propositions to life with creative storytelling (“brand poetry”) and customer experiences. She has a diverse background with experience in corporate communications, retail and specialty buying, fund-raising and “from the hip” grass roots marketing.
Crystal's skills were recently recognized with a Crystal Award from the PRSA for her work in developing the "Soul of Coal" campaign that raised funds for fallen West Virginia miners and brought a spotlight to African American coal miners in Appalachia.
Crystal manages strategic brand experiences, cause marketing relationships and multicultural marketing programs for clients, helping them to build more meaningful marketing that connects emotionally with their customers. Some of her recent clients include the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Verizon West Virginia, HistoryMakers, Mountain State University and Hatfield-McCoy Trails. Prior to Mythology, Crystal held senior marketing and management positions at Covenant House and Jackson Kelly PLLC.
Crystal Good is a respected business, community and arts leader in West Virginia. She is dedicated to growing opportunities and the quality of life for West Virginians with the hope of spreading the perseverance of a Mountaineer across America.
As a member of the Affrilachian (African-American- Appalachian) Poets, she has been a featured poet/speaker at the University of Kentucky, Appalachian State University, West Virginia University, West Virginia State University, and Marshall University. She is working on her first book of narrative prose that explores themes in quantum physics, Appalachian culture, race and mountaintop removal.
Crystal is a passionate advocate for arts, education, equality and the environment in West Virginia. She serves on the board of directors for Create WV, a grass-roots organization dedicated to growing the innovation economy through creative community-building principles, and also serves as its Diversity Initiative leader. She is a board member for OVEC, the Ohio Valley Environmental Council, a board member for the WV Public Relations Society of America, programming committee member for the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences and a founding member of OneKanawha, a diversity and anti-racism advocacy group. She has served on the WV Hate Crimes Task Force, Piedmont Elementary LSIC, FestivAll and numerous related organizations and committees.
She is the 2010 Community Trail Blazer recipient from the Charleston Black Ministerial Alliance, 2009 Charleston NAACP Image Award winner for Diversity and in 2005 was honored by Governor Manchin as a West Virginia Innovative Artist with the Museum in the Community.
A native of St. Albans, WV, Crystal is a graduate of West Virginia State University with a degree in Communications and a minor in African American Studies. She currently lives in Charleston, WV, with her three sons.
